NFL Mock Draft 1.0

It’s the most wonderful time of year, folks.

While the dust settles after an all-time great Super Bowl, NFL Draft season has officially begun. To celebrate, I’ve decided to drop my first official Mock Draft of the process!

Now, this one gets wild early. I currently have the Raiders trading up 10 spots with the Patriots to nab their QB of the future, LSU standout and Heisman winner Jayden Daniels. After that, things calm down a bit, as I currently don’t have any other trades occurring in the first round.

As it stands today, I don’t have a QB going in the first round after an unprecedented run of Williams-Maye-Daniels at the beginning of the draft, but keep an eye on reigning national champion JJ McCarthy. I could see the Michigan standout creeping up draft boards with a strong pro day & combine.

The big winners of this projected first round are the Patriots, Rams, and Packers. Trading down and still getting one of the best TE prospects we’ve ever seen in Brock Bowers would be a huge win for New England, along with stockpiling much needed assets via a QB desperate Las Vegas Raiders team. If Laiatu Latu falls to 19, the Rams would be getting the most fundamentally sound pass rusher in the draft and a great hometown fit. Most see Latu as one of the more pro-ready prospects available, which works incredibly well for a Rams team in win-now mode with Stafford gearing up for one last title run. Finally, if Cooper DeJean falls to the Packers, they wouldn’t just hit a home run; it’d be a grand-slam. DeJean is arguably a top 3 DB in this draft with his unreal athleticism and discipline. This Packers squad is ready to compete for a championship in 2024, and DeJean would be a huge piece for them to bring a Lombardi back home.
