If your head hasn’t been under a rock, then you know about the college basketball frenzy that has been taking place over the past couple of months. Things like the transfer portal and NIL has shaped college basketball into something that has given college athletes more freedom than ever before.
But let’s talk about the Brigham Young University Cougars. This past season, they were a great team, finishing third in the Big 12 with a conference record of 14-6. The Cougars were able to make it to the NCAA tournament sweet sixteen where they fell to Alabama. Nevertheless, the Cougars have been making moves this off-season to be even better for 2026.
The No. 1 player in the class of 2025 and Utah Prep standout, AJ Dybantsa, committed to BYU in December of 2024. He chose BYU over schools like Kansas, North Carolina and Alabama. Dybantsa, a 6-foot-9 forward, chose BYU, because of Kevin Young’s vision to turn the school into a program that prepares athletes for the NBA.
Young and the recruiting staff also went out and got former Baylor star freshman point guard Robert Wright III. Wright III averaged 11.5 points and 4.2 assists per game last season and was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team.
Along with Dybantsa and Wright signing to BYU, Richie Saunders, the team’s leading scorer from last year, decided to forgo the NBA draft and return to Provo, Utah for his senior season. Saunders averaged 16.5 points for the Cougars last season, which placed him 8th amongst all scorers in the Big 12. He also earned 2025 All-Big 12 first team and Most Improved Honors.
With all the talent and star power that BYU has already brought into the program for next year, it would not be a surprise at all to see BYU in the AP Preseason Top 25 Poll right before the season kicks off.

super ace
That combo multiplier in Super Ace sounds seriously engaging – a little extra boost is always welcome! I’ve been thinking a lot about bankroll management lately, and it’s so key to enjoying any game long-term. Seems like a fun, accessible slot for both newbies and seasoned players. ✨
