Men’s Basketball – Tournament Recap
West Georgia vs. North Florida
On March 4th, West Georgia defeated North Florida 93-85 in the opening round of the ASUN Tournament at Swisher Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Florida. Josh Smith led the team with 25 points and played an incredible game. Williams-Dryden added 20 points and Malcom Noel contributed 12 points. This game was West Georgia’s first ever ASUN Tournament victory!
West Georgia vs. Queens
On March 6th, West Georgia faced Queens University at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. The Wolves ultimately fell to Queens 71-63 in the ASUN Tournament Semifinals. Both teams already met twice this season during the regular season; the Wolves won on January 24th while Queens won on February 21st. This was an incredible season for the Wolves, and the team showed perseverance and diligence. They will be back and ready to play next season with ASUN Tournament experience under their belt.
Women’s Basketball – Tournament Recap
On March 5th, the season ended when West Georgia lost to second-seeded Jacksonville in the quarterfinals. Sydne Tolbert led the Wolves with 20 points, followed by Asia Donald scoring 18 points and Jasmine Jones with 15 points. Grace O’Gara and Destiny Jones each scored 11 points. The Wolves were down 41-28 at halftime and ultimately fell 86-77. Despite the loss, this team finished with a great season and went 18-13 overall this season. The Wolves displayed hard work and dedication for the entire season and will come back next season ready to play.
