With the long-awaited 2022 NFL Draft just two days away, four of our NFL analysts at the station (Ryan, Myles, Brendan, and Mason) have individually predicted how the top-5 picks of the draft will go. With Jacksonville, Detroit, Houston, and both New York teams slated to pick in the top 5, these are teams with countless needs that could go in a multitude of different directions. Jacksonville is on the clock…
Ryan’s Top 5:
Jaguars: Travon Walker, EDGE, Georgia
Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
Texans: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
Jets: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
Giants: Ikem Ekwonu, T, North Carolina State
Myles’ Top 5:
Jaguars: Travon Walker, EDGE, Georgia
Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
Texans: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
Jets: Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
Giants: Evan Neal, T, Alabama
Brendan’s Top 5:
Jaguars: Travon Walker, EDGE, Georgia
Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
Texans: Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
Jets: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
Giants: Ikem Ekwonu, T, North Carolina State
Mason’s Top 5:
Jaguars: Travon Walker, EDGE, Georgia
Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
Texans: Ikem Ekonwu, T, North Carolina State
Jets: Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
Giants: Evan Neal, T, Alabama
As our mocks suggest, the first two overall picks look like a lock. Georgia’s Travon Walker became the odds-on favorite to be the #1 overall pick over Aidan Hutchinson on Monday, signaling a change from just a month ago when Hutchinson was a heavy betting favorite to hear his name called first overall. After that, however, is where things get interesting.
While Ryan and Myles have Kyle Hamilton going to Houston with pick #3, Brendan has Hamilton falling out of the top-10 and the Texans dipping in the “Sauce” and taking the talented, multi-dimensional CB Ahmad Gardner. Ryan’s bold draft take is Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson going #4 overall to the New York Jets. Myles, Mason, and Brendan are projecting the dynamic Buckeye to land in Atlanta, with the Falcons. Brendan has Derek Stingley Jr. going #3 to Houston in a surprise, whereas nobody else at the station has him going top 5.
